Rea will share her interest and expertise of these areas as well as her love for travel. Her explorations in South America and around the world give an in depth feeling and appreciation of the areas visited, taking much care of their ecological and cultural diversity. Thursday, June 10th, at 7:00PM Conroy Cavanna and Pamella Cavanna, of "Carpets of the Inner Circle", will discuss how to select and care for an oriental rug. Conroy will cover Color, Design, Quality, Rarity, Condition and overall "Feel". He will speak about carpet care, including washing, restoration, rotating, storing and appraising a carpet. Pamella Cavanna will introduce their gallery, telling a little about the background of how they got into the business of oriental carpets. At Carpets of the Inner Circle the focus is on the rug as art, as textile nourishment for the soul. The tribal, village and urban workshop pieces they present are clearly perceived to be much more than utilitarian floor or wall coverings. The best are sacred objects, windows and doorways into other worlds. They provide glimpses of a people, a lifestyle and a culture that is rapidly disappearing.
